Direct logistics – reach stacker transportation for a container terminal

In September, the Smart Logistics International team organized and carried out the transportation of a richstacker, a specialized transshipment equipment needed to work with containers at the Vologda Smart Terminal.

The reach stacker is an oversized cargo, therefore, to comply with the dimensions on the route, the flashing light was temporarily removed from it.

It took 4 transport units to transport:
  • a trawl for transporting a richstacker ,
  • two escortvehicles,
  • technical support vehicle

The transportation was carried out from St. Petersburg to Vologda and took 2 days - from the moment of departure to unloading at the terminal.

The entire organization of the process, from route planning to the placement of equipment on the site, was carried out by the Smart Logistics International team.

This approach made it possible to ensure full control over the logistics process, optimal timing and safety at all stages of transportation.

We share the key stages of implementation: The route started in the city of Shenyang, and Gubkin became the final unloading point. During the transportation, several overloads were performed and additional vehicles were involved, including manipulators and gazelles for delivery to unloading warehouses in different cities.
